Trader Joe’s has hired Prabash Coswatte to serve as its new CIO, the grocer confirmed with sister site Grocery Dive Thursday.
Coswatte hails from Heritage Grocers Group, where he held several top positions including chief administrative officer and most recently served as chief operating officer overseeing store operations and information technology, among other areas.
His tenure with Heritage included serving as Cardenas Markets’ chief information officer, a role he assumed in 2019.
Prior to joining Heritage, Coswatte worked for Hispanic grocer Vallarta Supermarkets as chief information officer and for 99 Cents Only Stores as vice president of enterprise program management.
Coswatte joins Trader Joe’s at a time when the grocer is working to grow its storecount.
Trader Joe’s confirmed earlier this year it plans to open more than 20 locations in 2026. The grocer opened 43 stores in 2025 and 34 stores in 2024.
