SMi Group has recently announced that Colonel Joachim Neumueller, Head of Federated Mission Networking, J6, at NATO SHAPE, will be speaking at the Network Centric Warfare 2018 conference in Rome next February.
With the rise of a multipolar world, balancing near-peer adversaries and asymmetrical combat threats, the need to build joint operational capability is now essential. NATO's Federated Mission Networking (FMN) represents a significant contribution towards building tactical interoperability and operational effectiveness through common equipment, doctrine and architectures. As a key component of the Connected Forces Initiative (CFI), which helps NATO allies and partner forces to maintain quality of communications, training exercises and operations, NATO’s FMN is driving standardisation and connectivity within allied forces.
Thus, Colonel Neumueller’s presentation will explore how NATO is transforming interoperability through the development of standardised network enabled capability architecture. This presentation will highlight:
NATO Forces 2020: building an interoperable, adaptable and sustainable deployable force structure within NATO coalition nations
Role of CFI in enhancing interconnectedness between allied forces
Improving secure network access within combined force operations to optimise coalition power projection
Overcoming data-sharing challenges - ensuring information is uniformly shared within military data exchanger
Establishing a common framework for standard compliant systems to guarantee future NEC architecture interoperability
Other NATO presentations showcased at Network Centric Warfare 2018 include
