Expion Health® has received a 2026 CIO 100 Award from Foundry's CIO, recognizing its ExpionIQ® platform in the Digital Transformation & Modernization category. Chief Information & Transformation Officer Suresh Kumar accepted the award on the company's behalf during the CIO 100 Awards and Conference on August 19 in Frisco, Texas.
For more than 40 years, the CIO 100 Awards have recognized organizations that demonstrate excellence in technology leadership, innovation, and business impact. The recognition marks Expion Health's second CIO 100 Award, following its 2024 win for ExpionIQ Advisor.
The award comes as health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, and self-funded employers face growing pressure from rising prescription costs, evolving regulatory requirements, and increasing demands for transparency and performance. ExpionIQ helps organizations navigate that complexity by transforming pharmacy and rebate data into actionable insights that support more informed decision-making.
“The CIOs we're recognizing this year aren't just keeping the lights on, they're driving the business,” said Richard Smith, Head of Event Content, CIO 100 Awards & Conference. “AI, data, security, cloud; it all lands on the same desk now, and the best CIOs have stopped treating them as separate problems. The 2026 class shows what it looks like when you get that right.”
Expion Health was recognized for ExpionIQ, a platform that combines AI, advanced analytics, and pharmacy expertise to help organizations gain greater visibility into prescription performance and identify opportunities to improve outcomes and manage costs.
“ExpionIQ was built to make decisions, not simply orchestrate workflow and report on them,” said Suresh Kumar, Chief Information & Transformation Officer at Expion Health. “By pairing AI/ML with our proprietary rebate and pharmacy datasets, the platform turns fragmented cost data into recommendations our clients can act on and verify. Standing on that stage in Frisco was recognition for the engineers who built it. For us, this is still just the beginning.”
The award extends a growing list of industry recognition for Expion Health, including a 2024 CIO 100 Award, an inaugural UiPath AI10 Award, and back-to-back appearances on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies.
