The news overall was positive, as companies of all sizes increased the number of interview requests they sent to Hired and initial salary offers increased by 6% since the beginning of 2016.
In addition to being the best paid position, product managers are also receiving more interview requests, which increased by 8% in Q2. But interview requests for data scientists were even stronger, growing by 20% in Q2. Companies offered data scientists an average salaries of $127,000.
Software engineers saw the highest number of interview requests so far in 2016, indicating that is the area companies may need the most right now. In Q2 alone, interview requests for software engineers rose by 14%. Software engineers in San Francisco were offered the highest salaries in the U.S., followed by Seattle and Los Angeles.
Early-stage companies seem to be moving at a slightly faster clip than established companies when it comes to hiring, sending 24% more interview requests in Q2 than they did in Q1, while established corporations sent 13% more.
