Deloitte announced a new collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build and host 20 preconfigured industry-specific analytics solutions powered by SAP HANA.
Deloitte also plans to launch an AWS-dedicated cloud practice with 2,500 practitioners focused on helping businesses change the way they work across organizations with enterprise applications such as SAP, analytics solutions and front and back-office systems.
According to a press release, Deloitte's goal is to accelerate businesses' ability to achieve digital transformation and to enable them to instantly act on information and make better decisions across the enterprise.
Deloitte says the collaboration will allow businesses to migrate enterprise applications and data to "a scalable and cost-effective AWS environment, removing the need to own and manage the underlying technology infrastructure.”
Consulting firms like Deloitte are looking to capitalize on helping companies drive transformation efforts as digital transformation continues to gain popularity in the enterprise. According to International Data Corp., businesses are expected to spend $2.1 billion annually on technology by 2019.
Businesses need consultants not only to help them install tech, but now more than ever to envision how technology will change the way they do business. Consulting companies report that services related to analytics, cloud services and other digital technologies were in particularly high demand last year, as were as services that can help businesses with technology for enhancing the customer experience. Consultants that can offer those types of services are likely to see the biggest demand going into 2017.
A collaboration between Deloitte, AWS and SAP could be powerful for enterprises. SAP has been leaning more into the cloud, adding AI and other tools that can allow businesses to get more out of the data that passes through their ERP system.
