Microsoft announced it has formed a new partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise that will target corporate customers.
The companies will build offerings based on Microsoft's new Windows 10 operating system.
HP recently announced that it was ending its own cloud service offering because it didn’t feel it could effectively compete in the public cloud market.
The collaboration will leverage "Windows as a service," Microsoft's term for offerings that include automated management of updates to the operating system. Ajit Moodliar, a Microsoft director of business development, said the as-a-service approach will help HP Enterprise's corporate customers manage software on their computers.
The two companies said they also are working together on additional products and services targeting the retail, energy and transportation industries.
