National Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Tuesday marks the last day of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month but it’s also the eve of pumpkin-shaped Reese’s going on clearance. Still, the close of the month should not mark the end of encouraging best practices in cybersecurity. After all, hackers did not take the month of October off.
This year was haunted by cyberattacks, breaches and threats. Hackers only need to get an attack right once; then the rest of the work is done for them.
To combat the autonomous nature of 2017’s cyberattacks, security departments need to reexamine the foundation of security. If there are no cracks in the foundation, there are no vulnerable entry points for malicious monsters.
