Sprouts Farmers Market’s first-ever chief technology officer, Jim Bahrenburg, has resigned, according to a Monday securities filing.

Bahrenburg, who spent three years overseeing the strategic direction and management of Sprouts’ technology, will continue to serve as an advisor to the specialty grocer through March 31, 2027, to support an orderly transition, the filing noted. His departure is not a result of any disagreement with Sprouts or any matter relating to its operations, per the filing.
Sprouts did not respond to a request for comment by press time about who will succeed Bahrenburg.
Bahrenburg joined Sprouts in September 2023, stepping into a newly created C-suite role at the company. His retail career also included serving as Good Food Holdings’ CIO from November 2019 to August 2023 and more than a dozen years with 99 Cent Only Stores, according to his bio page on Sprouts’ website.
Bahrenburg’s departure marks the first confirmed C-suite change since the grocery company announced in early September that CEO Jack Sinclair plans to step down. The grocer named Nick Konat, Sprouts’ president and chief operating officer, as its next CEO, effective Jan. 4, 2027. Sinclair will become the chain’s executive chairman at that time.
