- On Tuesday, Google announced Okta as a preferred partner in an alliance designed to help companies transition to the cloud and securely deploy applications, such as Google Apps.
- Under the agreement, Okta will be Google’s preferred identity and access management partner.
- The new alliance was announced at Oktane16 in Las Vegas this week.
Combining key services could help attract companies looking to make digital transformation less complex.
The new alliance allows enterprises to combine Google’s cloud infrastructure and Okta’s identity and access management services to more easily move from legacy infrastructures to the cloud as well as deploy and manage Google Apps and other SaaS applications, according to the announcement.
"Okta’s alliance with Google will make it easy for enterprise customers to securely bring on Google Apps so business can spend their time innovating instead of securing complex deployments," said Todd McKinnon, CEO of Okta.
Gartner has named Okta a leader in its Magic Quadrant for Identity and Access Management as a Service (IDaaS), for the last three years in a row. Some of its major customers include Dish Network, MGM Resorts and Adobe.
