AWS brings in new customers with AI, ML, security tools
As competitors incrementally increase their cloud market shares, Amazon beefed up its own portfolio with the announcement of new cloud security, machine learning and data tools at AWS re:Invent this week. Threat detection security services and endpoint security for Virtual Private Cloud customers boost customer security on the AWS cloud.
- Other additions to cloud services include new Kubernetes and Fargate container capabilities, partner services, scale platforms and compute power for large workloads and more diversity in database selection.
While Amazon's spot as the No. 1 IaaS provider has never been in question, Microsoft and Google have been able to tout their own cloud platforms thanks to the wide array of AI, ML and Big Data tools.
Amazon took note, and this week’s announcements send a clear message AWS is ready to counter. The cloud is mainstream now, but many companies are still in the middle of large-scale migrations. . For companies just making use of the cloud and companies finally looking to make the leap, having these advanced tech tools is critical to bait new clients.
AI and ML are steadily becoming essential tools for companies looking to remain competitive, and the delivery of these tools through the cloud platform is a natural migration for technology.
The move is paying off for AWS. This week, it announced new and expanding partnerships with Disney, the NFL, Expedia, Intuit, VMware, DigitalGlobe and Turner.
